Acting Executive Director

Susan Mareneck was appointed deputy director in July 2007 to coordinate ICARE's "Circles of Care" ministry, endorsements for "Restoration of Rights" policy platform, educational outreach and communication. Susan's organizational background is in education and administration. She holds a B.A. from Smith College and an M.F.A. from the University of Iowa. She has been co-chair of the Witness and Outreach Committee at Trinity Church/ St. Paul's Chapel (2003- present) as well as a founder of their Prison Ministry Task Force. She served as an associate member of the Anti-Racism Committee of the NY Diocese of the Episcopal Church, Board Member of the Tribeca Community Association, Public member of CB#1 and founding member of Lower Manhattan Loft Tenants. A professional artist and educator, Susan is formerly a counselor at the NYC Department of Correction Youth House on Welfare Island. Her return to Restorative Justice advocacy and ministry is an act of hope, an effort to restore justice in our public life.
